The cockpit of the C-130 that flew me to Anchorage and back to cover the 9th Annual Winterskills military games. Being a reporter has its perks. The man in the photo is the navigator. He also controlled the prerecorded music we listened to. :-)

The Blackhawk helicopter I rode on today to go to White Mountain, a village of 200 people about 100 miles due east of Nome. We were playing Santa and his elves. I got to ride in the gunner's seat! What a ride! (Being a reporter for the newspaper sure has its benefits!)
