English 457 Visual Rhetoric English 457, Visual Rhetoric, provides study and practice in applying a rhetorical approach to the visual design of professional and technical documents, taking a broad view of the term "documents" as a physical or virtual representations of information in symbols, designed and presented as an individual entities. In this course, students apply the principles and theories of design to the creation of a variety of documents, making decisions about media, format, and information design for specific contexts, purposes, and audiences. Students will also gain experience in working with and managing design teams as well as production processes.
