There are only two classes of words that are used for description in English: adjectives and adverbs.
Adjectives: Adjectives ONLY describe
nouns. They do absolutely nothing else.
NOTE: Adjectives usually come before the noun they describe.
example: red, high, amiable, silly, lame, open
examples in use: red car,
amiable person, silly walk,
lame duck, open door
Adverbs:
Adverbs describe anything they want to, except
they cannot describe nouns.
NOTE: Many adverbs end in -ly (but certainly not all).
example: gracefully, too, very, really, masochistically
