Welcome to the Tanglewood Model Yacht Club! Our first rule is to have fun -- which we do each time we get together to race or simply sail our boats and talk.
| When do we sail? | We race each Tuesdays (Fairwinds) and Thursdays (Solings). Plus, members can sail anytime they want at the pond right here in Tanglewood. |
| How do I become a member? |
We are a very informal group -- just let an officer know you are interested and pay the $5.00 (per boat you want to race) and you are ready to go. |
| Who are the Officers? |
Our club has several officers who help organize events and perhaps most importantly, help new members who are interested in learning how to sail. Feel free to click on the link to the left to see our officers and to contact them with any questions you may have. |
We sail and race radio controlled model sailing yachts in the Tanglewood community. Currently, we have several different types of sailboats that members race, including the Fairwinds:
A Fairwinds boat -- about 3' long and a great boat for the new sailor.

We race Fairwinds each Tuesday at 10:00 and have a nice sized fleet of boats. This is a great way to learn about model yacht sailing.
We also race the Soling model yacht which is a bit larger than the Fairwinds. This is also a great boat to start with and in fact, many of our members have both a Fairwinds and a Soling. Solings are raced each Thursday at 10:00.

We sail at the Tanglewoods community in the large pond just north of the clubhouse. Drop by anytime you see a boat in the water and try sailing for your self!
