| Brookings is a beautiful
college-town with a population just over 18,000. Brookings is
the home of South Dakota State University, the largest university in the
state. There are many interesting sites in Brookings including several
museums and parks, one of which will be host to our wedding - McCrory
Gardens. Entering Brookings from I-29 will put you on 6th Street which runs the length of the community. You will find several restaurants on 6th Street between the Fairfield Inn and McCrory Gardens (the east side of town). We encourage you to drive west on 6th Street to Main Avenue where you will find many interesting shops, restaurants, and bars. We recommend the Ram Pub for dinner - an excellent steakhouse! Recommended bars include Jim's Tap, Skinners, and Cubby's. Skinners has a very nice beer garden outside and antique bar inside but does not serve hard liquor. Jim's Tap serves all types of drinks and hosts a uniquely medieval theme. Cubby's is a fun sports bar where you can also order meals - the best hamburgers in town!
