Evaluation:
Students will take tests on a regular basis to measure their progress. In order to successfully complete the program, students must:

Achieve the top level (level 5) on the Michigan test if they choose to study at Dakota State University

Prepare to get a high enough score on the TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) if they choose to continue their studies at another college or university

Students will become proficient in English in the following areas:
conversation, reading comprehension, writing, principals of grammar, using an expanded vocabulary, listening comprehension, pronunciation

Students will develop their logical reasoning, enhance their computer skills, and become familiar with American life and customs

Students will be able to follow regular college classes once they are finished with the ESL program (assistance is also given to students who wish to transfer to another institution to pursue a degree elsewhere).
